Hand Stretch Films
Hand stretch wrap is commonly used to unitize pallet loads, but also may be used for wrapping smaller items together. Clear residue-free cast hand stretch film stretches up to 100%, which contributes to its excellent resistance against tearing. The easy-to-use roll increases efficiency when used with a hand-held dispenser.

Hand-Held Stretch Wrap

Hand stretch film is a form of packaging material that is used for securing and protecting things on pallets or bundling together smaller items. It is also known as hand wrap or hand pallet wrap. It is a thin film made of flexible plastic that is physically wrapped around the objects or pallets using hand-held dispensers. The film is thin and flexible.

Typically, linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) or other materials that are comparable are used in the production of hand stretch film. It is constructed to have elasticity, which enables it to be stretched and wrapped securely around the objects or the pallet. Because of the film's ability to stretch, it is able to apply pressure to the goods and firmly hold them together. This results in a stable load that is less likely to shift or become damaged while being transported or kept in storage.

Because the film is typically see-through or translucent, the contents of the package can be quickly and easily seen without the consumer having to unwrap or open the packaging. It is also possible for it to come in a range of thicknesses and widths, which allows it to accommodate a variety of load sizes and weights.

For the purposes of packaging and shipping, hand stretch film is frequently utilized in a variety of industries including logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, and retail. It helps to prevent tampering or illegal access to the items, in addition to providing protection against exterior elements such as dust, moisture, and other elements of the environment.

In general, hand stretch film provides a solution that is both efficient and cost-effective for fastening and stabilizing loads, so ensuring that products can be safely handled and transported.

The primary distinction between blown hand stretch film and conventional stretch film is in their manufacturing techniques, performance attributes, and optimal application scenarios:

Manufacturing method

Blown Hand Stretch Film

  • Produced using the blown extrusion method.
  • Molten resin is blown into a bubble, then slowly cooled.

Standard Stretch Film (Cast Stretch Film)

  • Produced by the cast extrusion technique.
  • Molten resin is poured over refrigerated rollers and immediately cooled.

Performance characteristics:

Blown Hand Stretch Films:

  • Higher strength and puncture resistance Perfect for wrapping uneven or sharp-edged weights.
  • Higher cling Improved load retention during transportation.
  • Noisy during unrolling Because of its slick surface.
  • Hazy or dull appearance Reduced clarity but more effective in difficult settings.

Standard Stretch Film (Cast Film) is easier and quieter to apply.

  • Greater clarity and transparency useful for scanning barcodes or labels.
  • Less puncture resistance Ideal for consistent or light weights.
  • More affordable Because of the speedier and more efficient manufacturing process.

Best use cases:

Blown Hand Stretch  Film

  • Use Blown Hand Stretch Film for heavy, uneven, or sharp-edged loads. When securing and wrapping canned beverages, blown stretch film is the preferred choice.
  • Outdoor storage is one example of an environment that requires high endurance.

Standard Cast Stretch Film

  • Standard Stretch Film is suitable for lightweight, uniform, or standard-shaped loads.
  • Indoor storage or shipments when load stability is critical but not difficult.
