An unopened drum can last up to 5 years from the manufactured date. The drum needs to be kept in an environmentally controlled atmosphere. The environment can not exceed 80% humidity at 86º Fahrenheit.

To reactivate the desiccant, place in a convection oven for 16 hours at 245º Fahrenheit

I package Freeze dried food, for my retirement pantry. These add a bit of security to the food in case a seal breaks on a bag or jar. Where they work best is in Vitamins and nutrients that my family uses. Daily opening the bottles lets a lot of humidity into containers that this desiccant readily absorbs. It keeps food and medicine powders dry and clump free. I have used these in camera cases, G*N cases, safes, and more. They always arrive totally dry and ready to use. Best to store these in mason jars with good lids unless used quickly.
